Goldfield Ghost Town, Apache Trail, & Tortilla Flat with Mom

Yeah, yeah, I’m still blogging about our time in Phoenix 7 months ago. Wow that sounds terrible to say out loud. I was on a roll there for a while catching back up and then we took 2 weeks off to see friends and family and then moved and then mom visited…well you know the routine. When my life doesn’t have consistency I tend to get off track on everything. Bleh! But, back at it today! Maybe you will be able to hear about our time in Sarasota and San Antonio soon! LOL, okay, here goes…

So if you remember, I was telling you about everything we did while mom was visiting us in Phoenix this past January. We enjoyed the Old Town Scottsdale Art Walk and a fun girls trip to Sedona her first couple of days in town. Then she and I relaxed at the condo for a couple of days while Skyler worked. And then on his next day off we took her for a drive along the Apache Trail and to Tortilla Flat.

I have written about the Apache Trail and Tortilla Flat a couple of other times already so I won’t go into great detail, but as I have mentioned before – it is definitely worth seeing. You can read more about our other trips along the Apache Trail here and here.

But this time we did shake things up a bit and stopped off in Goldfield Ghost Town early along the trail. It’s an old mining town that died when the mines closed down, so now it’s just a cute little place for tourists to take a step back into AZ mining history. We really enjoyed all the cute shops and the fun atmosphere.

Sky even got to help one of the shop owners roll out some clay to make magnets. He got a free magnet for his help. :) Sorry for the terrible picture…the shop was super dark and I clearly didn’t have my settings correct.
