Geez! I’m never going to catch up to real time on here if I don’t write on a regular basis! I have been so bad the last few months! We have had a whirlwind of fun lately though…I can’t wait to tell you all about it! Phoenix, San Diego trip, MO trip, company time two – all kinds of excitement! So, where I left off last…
The last weekend of September/first weekend of October was another one spent on the road visiting friends back home. We started off taking a pizza and spending an evening with our friends Katy and Coty and their baby Blake in Joplin. We hadn’t seen them since we left last July and Blake was still in the NICU, so it was so awesome to see him walking and eating and playing. So sweet! We had a great time catching up, and even found out the great news that they are expecting again!
The next day we were on to NW Arkansas again for a reunion with all of our Mercy Hospital friends (Sky’s job when we lived there). We had lunch at the all amazing Whole Hog Cafe and then met up with our friends at Kevin and Ashlee’s house. It was so nice! We sat out on their back patio, listened to music, drank some beers, and laughed over old stories…and new ones. It was a blast!

Later into the night we all loaded up into a party bus and headed to Bikes, Blues, & BBQ in Fayetteville. So. Much. Fun!!!

BBBBQ is a massive annual biker rally that is packed full of people, beer, music, and atmosphere! It was an awesome night and was great to catch up with so many friends.

The next day we were up and at it again. Our first stop was Blake and Sarah’s house. They had their first baby that week and we couldn’t wait to meet the little guy! We didn’t stay long because they had just gotten home the day before, but it was nice to see them again and hold little Beckham. After that, we headed to Louie’s to meet Sky’s best friend Billy and his girlfriend Brittany for lunch and to say goodbye. Louie’s is your typical sports bar. Okay food and service. But, the BEST fried pickles EVER!!! So we had lunch and said our good-bye’s, knowing that would be our last stop in NWA on this trip home.
That evening we headed back to Joplin and had dinner with Skyler’s parents at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Del Rio. They have the best chips and salsa and queso ever!!!

We spent the next day in Neosho with Sky’s parents. Skyler went golfing with a buddy he grew up with and I met one of my best friends, Charissa, at Red Onion Cafe for dinner and a much needed catch up session! We were co-managers together at Johnny Carino’s right after I graduated college and have been friends ever sense! And Red Onion has kind of turned into our meet-up spot every time we get together. We always manage to pick up right where we left off and talk for several hours before we part ways again. She is truly an awesome friend and it was so great seeing her!
It was the perfect end to a fabulous weekend! It was a bit bittersweet knowing that our time at home was coming to an end and that it was our last time seeing several friends for quite a while, but it couldn’t have been a better weekend!
