Vancouver, BC: Vancouver Lookout

Wow! It has been over a week since I’ve been on here…so sorry! This trip home has been awesome so far, but finding time to sit down and blog has been nearly impossible! So, back to our exciting day in Vancouver a few weeks ago…

We spent the morning on Granville Island, then headed to Stanley Park for a couple of hours, walked across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, had dinner in Gastown at Steamworks…and then ended the day with an incredible 360° view of the city at the Vancouver Lookout. The Vancouver Lookout is kind of like the Space Needle is to Seattle. It offers stunning, 360° views of the city and beyond. The cost is only $15 (Canadian) per person, and you can come and go all day (unlike the Space Needle). It is recommended to make this your first stop of the day…although I must say that it made for quite a nice end to the day as well.

Neil Armstrong (the first man on the moon) opened the Vancouver Lookout in 1977. You ride the glass elevator 553 feet to the top of the lookout and can experience the city from a birds-eye view. They have great little info plaques along the perimeter of the lookout so you can read all about what you are seeing, and they even offer free guided tours if you prefer. Check out the views for yourself…

Not bad, eh?! Vancouver was pretty much pure awesomeness from the start of the day all the way till our last adventure before heading back to Seattle. We definitely loved the city and are looking forward to going back someday! But until then…
