Take Me Out to the Ball Game…

A few weeks ago (yes, I am that far behind!) we had a day full of baseball fun! We started the morning off at 10:30 with a 90 minute tour of Petco Park.

The guided tour is only $11 per adult and takes you through all the different areas of the ball park. We toured the press box, a luxury suite, the dugouts, a bullpen, through the historic Western Metal Supply Co. building, an exclusive premium lounge, the umpires locker room, and even onto the edge of the field!

It was a very informative, interesting  tour and a lot of fun! We ended our tour in the gift shop where we each purchased our Padres gear for the game later that night.

After our tour, we headed to Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza for lunch. We had been wanting to try it for a while, so we walked on over. To our pleasant surprise, they had a sign on the wall that if you present your ticket on game day, you receive a 20% discount on your purchase. We just ordered one small pizza to share which was very tasty.

I did however find a piece of string in the crust as I was about to take a bite of one of my pieces though. But when I showed our waitress she was so nice about it. I just wanted to know what it was, and a manager came out and was very apologetic and explained that it was a piece of a sanitizer towel. They asked if we wanted a new pizza or our meal comped and we said not to worry about it, but that we certainly appreciated their offering. So instead, they brought us a complimentary dessert…very nice and very tasty!

Later that night, we headed back to Petco Park to watch the Padres play the Braves. Unfortuanetly, the home team didn’t win, but we had a blast regardless! On our tour that morning, they took us through the Hall of Fame Bar & Grill inside the old Western Metal Supply Co. building in left field. They explained that anybody with a ticket to the game can go into the restaurant during a game. And even better, it has an awesome balcony that hangs over the field.

They offer two seating’s for the balcony. One group gets to stay out there from batting practice until the end of the 3rd inning and then the second group gets to sit out there for the second half. It’s first come first serve, so we got there an hour and a half before the game (when they opened the gates) and got our kick ass seats on the balcony. And to make it even better…we only paid for the $5 park pass tickets but had these killer seats with a waitress to bring us our drinks!

The food at this restaurant was way better than your typical ball park food too! We shared the nachos which were incredible and incredibly huge! We were both stuffed!

And to top it all off, a baseball was hit up by us during batting practice, so we got to keep it as a souvenir!

Our day of baseball was a blast! We had so much fun and became instant Padres fans!
