While we were in Tucson we of course had to eat at one of the restaurants featured on Man V Food…especially since it was Mexican – my favorite!!! Many famous people have dined at Mi Nidito including Bill Clinton. Sorry, I don’t remember the others. Anyway, the place was pretty busy and we had to wait a few minutes for a table, but not too long.
The meal started with yummy chips and salsa. My mom especially loved the salsa and wanted to buy some to take home…it was very good! For lunch, Mom and I shared the President’s Plate that was made for Bill Clinton back in 1999. It included a little taste of everything: bean tostada, birria taco, chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and beef tamale. It was awesome! If I remember correctly, I liked the tamale the best, but I liked most everything. Skyler had a chimichanga which I thought was good too. Mom and Sky weren’t as impressed as I was, but I love Mexican food, including authentic. They both prefer Tex Mex (which I love too). I can’t believe I didn’t get pictures of the meal…it was huge! I imagine I was too excited to try it and forgot to snap pics first…bummer!
Skyler did love the restaurant too though…but for an entirely different reason than the food. We just so happened to be seated right next to Houston Nutt, an ex-Razorback coach. Sky was seriously freaking out like a little kid until he got the nerve up to ask for a picture. Kind of funny – he was wearing an Arkansas jacket that day so he asked Mr. Nutt if he would like for him to take it off for the picture, but he said no it was just fine, he enjoyed his years with the Hogs.

Well, a few tables over was a group of men decked out in 49ers gear. Sky wasn’t 100% positive who they were at first but with a little bit of iPhone research we learned that one of the men was Reggie Cobb, a San Francisco 49ers recruiter that was voted recruiter of the year. And would you believe it…Sky was wearing his 49ers t-shirt that day! (We buy t-shirts every time we attend a game somewhere.) So Sky went over and asked Mr. Cobb for a picture, which he obliged and then joked that he really should be asking for a picture with another gentleman at the table.

Come to find out it was the GM of the SF 49ers. Pretty cool right?! Skyler was definitely in manly football heaven that afternoon!

Sorry all the pictures suck…I took them on my iPhone and it was super dark in the restaurant. All of these football guys were in Tucson for the week for some sort of high school football something with several teams there. I can’t remember exactly what it was, but the town was full of all sorts of football players, teams, coaches, and recruiters. Pretty neat! I think we all left Mi Nidito happy that we made the stop.
