Flaherty’s Seafood Grill

Last Wednesday, after we spent a couple of hours hiking around Point Lobos, we headed into Carmel-by-the-Sea to eat lunch at Flaherty’s Seafood Grill.

Our travel nurse friends that lived here for 7 months had recommended it and so we decided to give it a try. I think I was expecting a ocean front restaurant, so I was a bit disappointed that it was in town. But that being said, it is such a cute little seaside town.

Their seafood is all fresh and brought in daily, and was quite tasty! We tried the calamari for a starter, and it was delicious! Probably the second best I’ve ever had, only behind Ocean Ave Seafood in Santa Monica. For lunch, I ordered the Lobster BLT. It was pretty good, but the bacon actually overpowered the flavor of the lobster. And it actually tasted more like sweet crab meat than lobster. Still tasty though!

Skyler ordered the Pacific Coast Sand Dabs. It wasn’t his favorite fish ever, maybe a little too mild for his liking. But he said it was prepared great…perfectly seasoned and flaky.

I love eating at a restaurant that serves pretty food, and they did a pretty good job of it! It makes for a more appealing overall experience. All in all, it was a good lunch and a nice break in the day. Probably not either of our favorite restaurants ever, but still pretty good.

So far, our day was going pretty amazing…and it got even better as it went on…
