We ended our last day exploring San Francisco with a terrific dinner at the House of Prime Rib. Oh my gosh was it good! Especially after our long day of being turbo tourists! I had seen the restaurant featured on the Travel Channel a couple of years ago and said then that next time we were in San Francisco we had to go there. Prime rib is both mine and Sky’s favorite meal…so it was a definite treat!

The meal started off with some tasty sourdough bread followed by a very unique house salad that is tossed at the table. It was very good…and very different compared to your typical restaurant house salad. There were beats and boiled eggs and I can’t remember what all else in it, and was tossed in a Thousand Island type dressing.

And for the main event…2 tender, juicy cuts of prime rib! They roll the roasts around on a cart and cut it table side. Super cool!

I went for the House of Prime Rib cut, but Skyler went all out and ordered the massive King Henry cut. Check it out…it nearly took up the entire plate!

The steaks are served with your choice of a baked potato or mashed potatoes, creamed spinach or cream corn, and Yorkshire pudding to soak up all the yummy ajus. They also bring out 3 different types of fresh cream of horseradish sauce. I don’t usually like horseradish but these were delicious! Oh my mouth is watering just thinking about it! We definitely left this place stuffed!

If you are in San Francisco and have a taste for a mouth watering prime rib…this is your place! Make sure to make reservations in advance though. We went on a Monday night and they were packed! Or waiter said that they are never slow. The restaurant offers valet parking for $8 I think it was…which is much better than trying to find your own parking spot on the crazy streets of San Francisco.
Dinner was great, and our day was perfect! It was definitely one of those days that makes us very thankful for the opportunities that travel nursing has provided us.
